Spas
The Spa at Solage
The Spa at the Four Seasons Calistoga
Restaurants
Solbar and Picobar at Solage — Fine dining in the evening, excellent food, but we love going there for a more casual breakfast, brunch or lunch. You can play some bocce while you wait for your food.
Restaurant at Calistoga Inn — One of our regular casual spots for a good meal, with live music and one of the best outdoor patios for dining.
Evangeline — French bistro with a charming outdoor patio, great for brunch, lunch or dinner.
Cafe Sarafornia — Traditional diner for open for breakfast and lunch.
Lovina — Intimate, cozy spot to have a meal, and also tip-free.
Busters BBQ — Excellent for takeout! We take it home and sit on our deck; famous for their ribs and try-tip. Tip: get both the mild and the hot BBQ and mix it 50/50 — it’s the best.
Calistoga Creamery — Wonderful spot for ice cream, especially on a hot summer day!
Palisades Eatery — Casual spot for lunch or dinner (we prefer lunch), their tacos are quite good.
La Gitana Taco Truck - 1102 Tubbs Lane - open weekdays only, their tacos are delicious!
Sushi Mambo — The only sushi spot in town with some very creative dishes, try the Fungus Among Us!
Wineries and Tasting Rooms
Olabisi — Nice tasting room right in town, adjacent to Evangeline.
Chateau Montelena — World famous Chateau Montelena is very close to our house, just off Tubbs Lane.
Tank Garage Winery — If you want a little rock n’ roll with your wine, check this place out. The tasting room is in a converted gas station with a super fun vibe, not your typical tasting room. It’s a great spot to end your day.
Davis Estates — Beautiful grounds overlooking the valley floor.
Hourglass Winery — Phenomenal wine in a beautiful setting, just off the Silverado Trail.
Hunnicutt — Justin Hunnicutt and his team are lovely and offer a wonderful tasting experience, you must check out their caves!
Other suggestions: Phifer Pavitt, Kelly Fleming (famous for their sauvignon blanc), Clos Pegase (architecturally stunning), Sterling (gondola ride to the tasting room)
Activities
Calistoga Bike Shop — For bike rentals, visit Brad and his staff.
Hiking — There are a lot of hiking trails in Calistoga; the Oat Hill Mine Trail is probably the most popular.
Safari West — Although it is not in Calistoga, this 400 acre wildlife preserve is only a 20 minute drive from The Anderson.
Shops
Blackbird of Calistoga — Mercantile store on the main street (Lincoln Ave), it’s my absolute favorite store in town!
Copperfield’s Books — This bookstore is an absolute gem.
Art Galleries — there are a number of galleries in town. For something special, you can tour Villa Ca’Toga, the studio and residence of artist Carlo Marchiori, open from May - October.
Calistoga has a number of antique shops to peruse. They are mainly located on the the southern end of Lincoln Avenue.
Market
Cal-Mart — it’s a pretty well-stocked market, has an excellent cheese selection
Calistoga Farmers Market — open year-round on Saturdays 9am - 1pm. I recommend purchasing seafood from the Farmer’s Market, from Santa Rosa Seafood
Puerto Vallarta Market — you can find authentic Mexican ingredients here, also check out their taqueria!
